Simulators and Labs

Cadets have access to outstanding simulators and labs in preparation for their career in the Coast Guard.

Simulation-based learning is a great way to accelerate skill development, train high-performing teams and prepare for worst-case scenarios, while minimizing risk. The Academy operates three simulators. The largest is the Shipboard Control and Navigation Training System (SCANTS), with training stations spanning the basement of Yeaton Hall. This state-of-the-art simulation system consists of two full size ship bridges and three smaller full-mission simulators where cadets can perform all missions from basic navigation to ice breaking and search and rescue.

The Part Task ship simulator consists of 12 desktop-sized simulation training stations located in a single classroom in Yeaton Hall.

The Redbird simulator is a flight simulator used by members of the Flight Team and Aviation Club.
