The Academy is pleased to host the Respect & Inclusion Summer Experience (RISE), for newly reporting cadets. RISE is a fun, three-day family orientation to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Totally optional, RISE will help you make the transition to life as a new cadet, get to know classmates and New London better, and offer practical tips to your parents. Please consider attending if you:

  • Are the first in your family to attend college
  • Have not visited the Academy before
  • Are a citizen of another country, or have lived most of your life outside the U.S.
  • Belong to a group historically underrepresented at the Academy
  • Have concerns about the transition and prefer a gradual introduction
