Ambassador Negroponte visits CGA as Hedrick Fellow

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Coast Guard Academy hosted Ambassador John D. Negroponte
at the Academy as part of the Coast Guard Foundation Hedrick Fellowship, Feb. 28,
2018.
The Hedrick Fellowship brings renowned political, military and industry leaders
to the Academy to share knowledge and insight, and provide an opportunity for future
officers to learn from the experiences of distinguished leaders.
Negroponte visited with cadets during an academic seminar, reception, dinner and
gave the 23rd Hedrick Fellowship Address in Leamy Hall Auditorium.
Negroponte has been ambassador to Honduras, Mexico, the Philippines, Iraq, and the
United Nations. He was the first Director of National Intelligence and also served
as the Deputy Secretary of State.
