NET21 Summer Experience

This is an opportunity for interested middle school students to learn about cyber and computer programming. No experience is needed, only a positive attitude!

Come join us on Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26 to learn about the fundamentals of cyber security through online and hands-on gaming and coding. Using programmable robots and an app designer, kids will be exposed to problem-solving, teamwork, and information on future career paths in the exciting field of cyber. Weather permitting, kids will also get to see a Coast Guard asset, such as a helicopter. Because this opportunity coincides with our AIM program, kids and parents will also have an opportunity to observe our high school program with kids from all across the country.

Kids will receive a participation certificate, T-shirt, and other keepsakes to take home to remember their experience at the Coast Guard Academy.

Parents will also have an opportunity to attend briefings to learn more about Admissions for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

This program is co-sponsored by the Education Subcommittee of the New London NAACP chapter and also satisfies the Coast Guard Academy’s educational outreach requirements for the DHS/NSA Center of Academic Excellence application.

Orientation and Helicopter Demonstration: July 25 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Hands-On Cyber Activities and Awards: July 26 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
