Summerville, SC - Class of 2021 Major: Mechanical Engineering
Juliana Lehnerova

Hey everyone! My name is Juliana Lehnerova and I am from Summerville, South Carolina. I love to be outside doing everything from hiking and rock climbing, to kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. I played soccer in high school, but decided to try something new at the Academy and joined the rugby team. I have loved my time on the team, especially getting to know the girls and, of course, kicking butt!

I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently working on a joint Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Capstone Project inspired by the Wounder Warrior Project. We are designing robotic legs for wounded soldiers.

During my summers, I sailed on board CGC EAGLE, was stationed at STATION CHARLESTON, and completed an internship with the Engineering Services Division at the Aircraft Logistics Center. I have loved the opportunities to go out into the fleet.

I heard about the Coast Guard Academy as a cadet in Civil Air Patrol and came here with a desire to serve my country and pursue my passion in aviation. Whether you’re considering a career in the military or simply want to give back and serve, I hope these blogs give you insight into what the Academy and the Coast Guard have to offer.
