The Coast Guard Academy has an array of opportunities to become educated in cyber and be involved in cyber activities. Some examples include:
- Cyber Team: The CGA Cyber Team participates in a wide range of information security competitions. The club is open to all cadets.
- Cyber Range: As part of the professional development that occurs during the summer, all rising juniors participate in a hands-on training experience, which provides cadets with key cybersecurity concepts and principles.
- Internships: Cadets have the opportunity to compete for internships for their senior summer at such locations at the Coast Guard Cyber Command (CGCYBER), United States Cyber Command (USCYBER), and the National Security Agency (NSA).
- NET21 Youth Leadership Academy: Operating under the Coast Guard’s Partnership in Education Program, NET21 seeks to provide mentorship to the youth in local community while simultaneously introducing them to the field of cybersecurity.
