Commencement 2018

Welcome to Commencement 2018

To graduate from the Coast Guard Academy is a momentous achievement.

After four years of studying and learning to become the best officers possible, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Class of 2018 will graduate May 23, 2018 on Cadet Memorial Field with family and friends in attendance. The Academy's 137th Commencement ceremony will feature Vice President Michael Pence as the keynote speaker.

Sunny skies were the backdrop for the 2017 Commencement ceremony, which featured keynote speaker President Donald J. Trump. Proud family members and thousands of guests listened along with 194 graduates as President Trump gave his first address at a service academy. The speech was followed by the conferral of commissions, and finally, to each graduate the presentation of their degree by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and USCGA Superintendent Admiral James Rendón. Of the graduates, 190 were commissioned as officers in the United States Coast Guard and four were commissioned as officers in the sea-going service of their respective home country.
