LT Brandon Strickland

Brandon StricklandHello! I am LT Brandon Strickland and I am excited to be serving at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy as an Admissions Officer for the New England region. Thank you for your interest in learning more about the opportunities at the USCGA.

I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 2007 and graduated from Operations Specialist “A” school in Petaluma, California before being assigned to Port Security Unit 301 Communications Division in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In 2009, I deployed to Camp Patriot, Kuwait and served in the Security Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). In 2013, I deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to serve as a communications watch stander. I received my commission from Reserve Officer Candidate Indoctrination (ROCI) in 2014 and was assigned to Sector Boston’s Vessel Boarding and Security Team (VBST) as a division officer.

I have been a Massachusetts public school educator for the past six years, starting out as a special education teacher and most recently a Vice Principal. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
