The Fall Semester

Fall in New England is gorgeous! I’m writing this on the tail end of Columbus Day Weekend after a fun-filled hiking trip in Massachusetts spent with my friends. It is so important for me to have a balance between school and personal life, and getting outdoors for the weekend was just what I needed! The semester is heating up with assignments and papers, so I have been very busy with academics, yet I have still found time to relax and not think about school for a couple days.

The fall semester is a whirlwind of activity for the Corps of Cadets due to intense sport schedules and the never-ending school work due each day. Thankfully, the fall semester is packed with plenty of weekends off such as Columbus Day, Parents Weekend, Veterans Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Break, and of course, Christmas! My parents are not able to attend Parents Weekend this year, so I’ll find one of my friend’s families to tag along with. That’s the beauty of the Academy! The family atmosphere here is a real and amazing thing, and families always welcome and include extra cadets into their plans with open arms. Of course, I can’t wait until Thanksgiving Break where I’ll be able to take a few days and relax with my family. After that break, Christmas is only a couple weeks away! The saying, “The days are long, but the weeks are short” is definitely true here. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
