This is a two-week training course designed to prepare personnel to successfully serve in senior leadership and command positions at Boat Forces units ashore. Although not pipeline, this course is required for the command cadre and engineering petty officer personnel at all boat forces units. BFCC Scope
This course prepares all members in receipt of orders to assignments as Commanding Officer, Officer-In-Charge, Executive Officer, Executive Petty Officer, or Engineering Petty Officer billets at Boat Forces units; including DSF and MFPUs, Operations Officers of MFPUs, and Logistic Officers of PSSUs; to execute their broad range of duties and responsibilities. Students are provided with the skills required to use technical terminology, locate appropriate references, complete paperwork, identify on the job challenges, and perform corrective actions which are ethically responsible and consistent with Coast Guard policy. Learning focuses on leadership and operations. Students will be evaluated on their participation in class, various writing assignments, and an examination on Coast Guard Regulations.
