IMED Unloader Project
When a vessel runs aground, the Coast Guard takes a vital role in ensuring that the situation is resolved with the least amount of risk to people, the environment and the economy. Your challenge is to create a cargo handling mechanism to offload a “vessel” that has run aground. The unloader may be made from material and mechanisms that are located within the power lab, but they must create one piece through the CAD program (Solidworks) and manufacture it using the 3-D printer or C&C Machines. Your team will have ten minutes to unload as much material from one bin as possible without wasting any material during the process. This project will provide an opportunity to design, compile, manufacture and compete against other designs.
