LT Pat Meggers was born and raised in Manchester, Connecticut and reported to the USCGA in the summer of 2009. After reporting to the Academy, LT Meggers was a four-year varsity football player for the Academy Bears and also was the regimental staff member charged with coordinating the Academy Scholars program, the same program from which he earned his appointment. His cadet summer experiences were aboard CGC Rush, CGC Farallon, and CGC Ocracoke. LT Meggers graduated and received his ensign commission from the Academy in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Government with specialization in Public Policy. LT Meggers’ first assignment was to CGC Campbell in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He fulfilled the role of Assistant Navigator. During his time onboard, he aided in the enforcement of laws and treaties associated with the preservation of living marine resources, which led to numerous illegal net-lining prosecutions and search and rescue operations.

LT Meggers assumed the duties and responsibilities of Executive Officer aboard CGC Raymond Evans in Key West, Florida on 11 June 2015. During his time aboard, he aided in the interdiction of over 300 illegal Cuban migrants and the repatriation of over 1,100 migrants back to Cuba. The cutter also assisted in thwarting narcotics smuggling operations throughout the Caribbean. LT Meggers resides in Niantic, Connecticut and enjoys boating, fishing, and general outdoors activities.
