Dr. Goulet joined the faculty of the Coast Guard Academy in 2001. Previously, she taught in the undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs in the School of Business at the University of New Haven for seven years and served as the Director of Leadership and Undergraduate Programs for two and a half years. Prior to entering the Academy, Dr. Goulet worked in both mental health and anti-poverty agencies as a program director, overseeing research and evaluation and running a multi-million dollar heating and rental assistance program. She has also served as a consultant, developing and implementing training programs for State of Connecticut and non-profit agency employees.  

Dr. Goulet’s scholarship includes the study of work intensity, organizational commitment, career commitment, self-concept, and pedagogy. She has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Women in Management Review, Public Personnel Management, and Journal of the Academy of Business Education, to name a few. She has presented at and is published in the proceedings of numerous conferences, including the Eastern Academy of Management, the Academy of Management, and the Society for the Advancement of Management. Dr. Goulet currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Academy of Management, and is the Vice President of Program for the 2008 Conference. Dr. Goulet is also the editor of the Recent Research of Note section of the Organization Management Journal, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for various scholarly journals.
