Tyler Chair Trip and Seminar
Each Spring Semester, the Tyler Chair in Leadership, ADM James Loy works with the Academic Dean to identify a suitable senior academic course to provide lecturers and a trip to Washington D.C. The guest lecturers use their experience in public service to tie leadership lessons to the course curriculum. The two-day trip to the nation’s capital is used to meet with policymakers, politicians and heads of government agencies to provide cadets with real-world applications and perspectives to the academic learning. Previous courses have ranged from engineering to federal budgeting and included senators, congressional leaders and senior members of the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies.
