Lieutenant Vince Bove graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2007, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In July of 2007, he reported to the Nuclear Power Training School in Charleston, South Carolina for six months of nuclear training. Following that he reported to the Naval Nuclear Prototype in Saratoga Springs, New York for an additional six months of training. He then reported and completed the Submarine Officer Basic Course (SOBC) in Groton, Connecticut. Following completion of SOBC, LT Bove completed the Naval Dive and Salvage Training Center's SCUBA diving course in Panama City, Florida. 

In September of 2008 he reported to the Virginia Class Submarine USS New Mexico (SSN-779) in Norfolk, Virgina where he served as the Main Propulsion Assistant, Reactor Control Assistant, Damage Control Assistant, and Diving Officer. In May of 2010, he qualified Submarine Warfare and completed his qualifications as a Nuclear Engineer Officer in February of 2011. 

In May of 2011, LT Bove transferred from the boat and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  While deployed, LT Bove was the OIC of a TAC DOMEX-A team performing collection, processing and analysis of document, cell phone, and electronic media intelligence for several U.S. Army Battalions in Regional Command East. 

In the summer of 2012, he transferred to the Coast Guard Academy Professional Maritime Studies Branch as a Nautical Science Instructor. 

LT Bove is a native of Seneca Falls, New York and is married to LT Tina Bove of Unadilla, New York. Tina is a nuclear trained Surface Warfare Officer and former instructor at the Coast Guard Academy.  They reside in Gales Ferry, Connecticut with their Great Dane, Hector and new daughter, Myra Jo.
