LCDR Chris Wolfe graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1998 with a B.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Following graduation, he was assigned as the Damage Control Assistant aboard the USCGC Polar Sea (WAGB 11), a 399’ polar-class icebreaker stationed in Seattle, Washington.  

In 2000, LCDR Wolfe was selected for post graduate study in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and earned Masters of Science in Engineering from the University of New Orleans in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and Engineering Management.  

Following graduate school in 2002, LCDR Wolfe was assigned as the Headquarters Naval Engineering Representative to the Great Lakes Icebreaker (GLIB) replacement project, working on the design, construction, and logistics development of USCGC Mackinaw (WLBB 30) a 240’ combined heavy icebreaker and buoy tender for the Great Lakes.  

In 2006, LCDR Wolfe was assigned as the Engineer Officer aboard USCGC Tahoma (WMEC 908), a 270’ medium-endurance cutter stationed in Kittery, Maine. LCDR Wolfe then transferred to the Coast Guard Academy as a rotating military faculty member in the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Section.
