LT Forni is from South Hadley, Massachusetts. He reported to the CGA in 2005 and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Operations Research in 2009. Upon graduating, LT Forni’s first tour was as a Deck Watch Officer aboard USCGC Boutwell, a 378-foot high endurance cutter, home-ported in Alameda, California. From June 2009 to May 2011, he served as Gunnery Officer, Combat Information Center Officer, Law Enforcement Officer, Boarding Officer, and fleeted up to the Weapons Department head position in January 2011, conducting counter drug operations in the Easter Pacific and fisheries enforcement in D17.
Following a tour on Boutwell, LT Forni served as the Weapons Officer aboard USCGC Jarvis (WHEC 725) home-ported in Honolulu, Hawaii from May 2011 to December 2011 and aboard USCGC Morgenthau (WHEC 722) from December 2011 to present after the Jarvis/Morgenthau hull swap. He oversaw fisheries enforcement in D14 and conducted counter drug operations in the Eastern Pacific and Baja Peninsula.
LT Forni reported to the Nautical Science Department at the Coast Guard Academy in 2013.
