Welcome to the Coast Guard Academy! I lead our team of Admission Officers and in my spare time also coach the Men’s Rugby team, one of the most popular club sports on campus.
I served for six years in the Navy before graduating from the Coast Guard’s Officer Candidate School as an active duty LT who headed straight to flight school at the Naval Aviation Training Center in Pensacola, Florida (the Navy and Coast Guard both use Pensacola for basic flight training). I have since enjoyed back-to-back aviation tours in Miami, Florida and Atlantic City, New Jersey. Within weeks of reporting to Miami Air Station, I deployed to New Orleans to respond to Hurricane Katrina. The operations were insane as we rescued people from the water and rooftops, non-stop for weeks in the Coast Guard’s largest search and rescue operation in it's history. Over 30,000 persons in distress were rescued.
I fly the HH-65 Dolphin helicopter. In Atlantic City, I earned the highest qualification as a rotary wing Flight Examiner and dual-qualification as a Search and Rescue and Rotary Wing Air Intercept pilot. My career has provided me the opportunity to participate in nearly every mission the Coast Guard undertakes - including maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, boating safety, migrant interdiction, and environmental protection.
I work with a great team in Admissions and encourage you to get to know your Admissions Officer, then visit. Nothing beats a visit to know if this is the right college and service for you. See you soon!
Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors!
