AcademyLieutenant Tenorio started his military career as a U.S. Navy Corpsman in 1992, serving 10 years in variety of operational and support units including: Naval Hospital Long Beach; U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Surveillance Reconnaissance Intelligence Group, Okinawa, Japan; Naval Station Rota, Spain; Naval Station Key West, Florida; Naval Medical Research Center, Bethesda, Maryland and 1st Marine Wing Support Group, Okinawa, Japan. After earning his M.S., Lieutenant Tenorio joined the USCG via the Direct Commission Engineer (DCE) program in 2004, serving as a lead in the Enterprise Architecture Engineering Branch at the Telecommunications and Information Systems Command (TISCOM), Alexandria, Virginia. Prior to assignment at the Academy, LT Tenorio served as a Regional Manager and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the short-range maritime communications upgrade project, Rescue 21, at the Project Resident Office in Scottsdale, Arizona.
