LT Nicholas Cichucki is on exchange from the Navy to the Nautical Science department at the Coast Guard Academy.

LT Cichucki graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2009. In the fall of 2009, he reported to Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) in Charleston, South Carolina for Nuclear Power School. After graduating from NNPTC in the spring of 2010, he reported to the Nuclear Prototype Training Unit at Naval Weapons Station Charleston, South Carolina. Upon qualifying Engineering Officer of the Watch, he moved up to Groton, Connecticut for the Submarine Basic Officer Course. From there he reported to his first sea tour aboard the fast attack submarine USS Chicago SSN-721 stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in February of 2011. After a year in the shipyards in Hawaii, he moved with the sub to its new home port: Agana, Guam. After a 40-month sea tour he reported to the Coast Guard Academy for instructor duty in June 2014. LT Cichucki’s military decorations include three Navy Achievement Medals, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

LT Cichucki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is pursuing masters degrees in Nuclear Engineering Management and National Security.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, LT Cichucki currently resides in Groton, Connecticut. When not working, LT Cichucki enjoys fishing, skiing, kayaking, hiking, and traveling.
