A 2009 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Lieutenant Junior Grade Ian Williams was first assigned to USCGC Mellon (WHEC-717) home-ported in Seattle, Washington as a Deck Watch Officer. His primary collateral was Combat Information Center Officer Other and his other duties included Intel Officer, Assistant Law Enforcement Officer, and Boarding Officer. In July of 2011, he transferred to the Coast Guard Academy Professional Maritime Studies Branch where he currently serves as a Nautical Science Instructor.
