Tall Ship Eagle
3/c Jacob Conrad

My summer working aboard the Eagle has been a lot of fun so far. Swab summer aboard Eagle was okay, but this summer has been quite a different experience. Finally being able to qualify to stand watches and contribute to the operation of the boat has been a highlight for me. I have really enjoyed working in the operations department. Climbing up in the rigging and out on to the yard arms is awesome. Being able to stand helm and look-out watches by myself is cool too.

The port calls have been nice and the duty rotations are fair. Hopefully engineering will be a nice change of pace as I finish up this summer and give me the opportunity to learn even more about what it takes to keep the ship running underway.
