Standardized Tests

All international cadet candidates are required to submit either SAT Reasoning or ACT exam scores by the March application deadline.

SAT: A minimum score of 600 on the Math section is recommended. A minimum score of 600 on the Critical Reading section is also recommended and a strong performance on the Writing section is preferred. The Coast Guard Academy reporting code for the SAT is 5807; additional information about the SAT exam and a list of available test dates can be found on the College Board website.

ACT: A minimum score of 26 on the Math section is recommended. A minimum score of 27 on the English section is also recommended and a strong performance on the Writing Test is preferred. The Coast Guard Academy reporting code for the ACT is 0600; additional information about the ACT exam and a list of available test dates can be found on the ACT website.
