Electrical Engineering Projects

Seniors in Electrical Engineering take a Capstone Design course that often results in projects with a homeland security focus. The yearlong course, which runs for approximately 32 weeks, consists of 1-2 person teams, who must ultimately create a beta-level prototype. By designing, building and testing the prototypes, the cadets engage with the research and prototype process in all its totality.

Some samplings of projects that cadets have worked on in the homeland security realm: Electronic Navigation (GPS, DGPS, LORAN, WAAS) Vulnerabilities in Major US Ports, VHF-Direction Finding project for Rescue-21, a LORAN/GPS/INS integrated receiver and a low power LORAN receiver.
