Thanks for inquiring about the United States Coast Guard Academy. I am excited to serve as your Admissions Officer!

I was raised in southwest Virginia. I've always enjoyed being around water and wanted to work for the greater good in a leadership position. What better way to do that than the Coast Guard!

A highlight of my time as a cadet was sailing America’s Tall Ship Eagle, something you will do, too. As a sophomore (3/c) cadet, I sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to Ireland, Germany, and England. My senior (1/c) summer was in San Diego aboard the CGC Haddock, enforcing drug laws in the Pacific.

My first assignment as an officer was aboard the medium endurance cutter Diligence, home-ported in Wilmington, North Carolina where I qualified as a Deck Watch Officer conducting law enforcement and migrant operations. I hope to return to sea after this assignment.

These have been exciting and rewarding experiences that I’d like to share with you as I help you decide if the Coast Guard Academy is right for you. I hope you do, and I look forward to working with you and your family!
