USCGA Commencement 2017
After four years of studying and learning to become the best officers possible, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Class of 2017 will graduate on May 17, 2017 on Cadet Memorial Field here with family and friends in attendance. The Academy's 136th Commencement ceremony will feature President Donald J. Trump as the keynote speaker.

Sunny skies were the backdrop for the 2016 Commencement ceremony, which featured keynote speaker former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson. Proud family members and thousands of guests listened along with 186 graduates as former Secretary Johnson gave a speech that credited President Obama and Congress for fostering the modernization of the aging fleet. The address was followed by the conferral of commissions, and finally, to each graduate the presentation of their degree by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and USCGA Superintendent Admiral James Rendón. Of the graduates, 181 were commissioned as officers in the United States Coast Guard and five were commissioned as officers in the sea-going service of their respective home country.
