Hello! I’m Justin Sherman from Columbus, Ohio. I was born and raised there, so the Academy is the only other “home” that I’ve had, and I can tell you that my family here is much bigger than back at home. I’m an only child, so I was the first and last (and middle) child to go to college. I don’t think my mom, dad, and dog, Pumpkin, are quite sure yet what to do with themselves now that they’re empty nesters.
I have plenty to do here. I’m in the drum and bugle corps, called Windjammers, and am also a part of the Officers’ Christian Fellowship. Of course there is also classes, schoolwork and military trainings, too. As crazy as it seems, I enjoy running and lifting weights in my free time; the Academy has great fitness facilities, so getting a good and diverse workout is easy. It’s awesome! I can’t forget to add that we all love liberty: going out to eat, seeing a moving, walking around the mall, or just relaxing (one of our favorite words) with the other fourth class.
If you have questions about the Academy, please email me at Justin.P.Sherman@uscga.edu. I’d be happy to tell you as much as I know about the Academy.
