ABOUT ANNA
Hello! My name is Anna Ruth and I’m from beautiful Arroyo Grande, California (about half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles, right on the beach). I set my sights on the United States Coast Guard Academy during my sophomore year in high school. My dad went to the Air Force Academy and my mom went to USC on an Air Force ROTC scholarship. They both continued on to be T-38 instructors, which inspired me to attend the Coast Guard Academy and to later pursue a career in the air.
In high school, I was the trumpet section leader and band horn sergeant, as well as ran track and played soccer. Here, I play trumpet in the regimental band and the tuba in Windjammers. I am currently majoring in Civil Engineering, but I am considering switching to Operations Research, the equivalent of applied mathematics. I look forward to a great four years here in Connecticut!
