My name is Ronaqua Annette Russell and I am from St.Thomas, Virgin Islands. I am a 3/c cadet at the Coast Guard Academy. I went to Ivanna Eudora Kean for high school and attended the University of the Virgin Islands, as well as New Mexico Military Institute.

As a cadet, there are many different opportunities and clubs offered at the Academy. Because of this, I have enjoyed participating in a number of things. I am an officer in the Genesis Council, one of the four diversity councils at the Academy. I am a member of the Companeros and International Council, Aviation Club, Glee Club, and Ballroom Dance Club. I play the drums in the Regimental Band and Windjammer Drum and Bugle. The Windjammers this year played a Michael Jackson themed show and performed in Canada and at the Veteran’s Day Parade in New York.

My favorite foods are a curried West Indian dish called roti, fritters, and macaroni and cheese. I listen to a variety of music, but my favorites are R&B and reggae.
