ABOUT DREW
Hey everyone, I’m 4/c Drew Ferraro. I’m a proud member of the class of 2015, and in fact elected to be 2015’s class President. I’m from Mission Viejo, California, which is right in the heart of sunny Southern California, so I grew up on the water and on the beaches. I love to surf, swim, work out, and play water polo, and I’m doing an exceptional amount of those last two here at the Academy. Playing for the water polo team has been an awesome experience, meeting upperclass and learning all the things you might not have learned about otherwise.
I’d wanted to come to the Academy since about sophomore year in high school, and as a senior, I got selected for prep school at New Mexico Military Institute. Prep school, though I didn’t realize it at the time, was the best thing to ever happen to me. It made me a leader in the class of 2015, and gave me some of my best friends, the friends who I know I’ll get through anything with.
Though plans for the future are always changing drastically here at the Academy, I’d like to graduate, first of all, but then be stationed somewhere in Alaska, or somewhere new and exciting. I love to travel, and I always wish I could do more of it, so I figure, once I graduate, that’s my chance to get out there!
The Academy is stressful beyond belief, tough, tiring (tiring doesn’t explain it. You feel like you’re in a coma until about noon), and physically and emotionally trying. But, everything about the Academy has to do with point of view. Find a good group of friends, and make fun for yourselves, and I guarantee you’ll have the best time of your life. I did at prep school, and I’m having a blast here at the Academy. Email me if you have any questions at Drew.A.Ferraro@uscga.edu, I’d be happy to answer any questions you have! Take care guys!
