My name is Hunter Stowes, and I am from Norwood, Massachusetts, a suburb ten minutes south of Boston. I graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in 2012, where I played rugby, wrestling, and football. From an early age, I always knew I wanted to serve my country. At first, I planned on pursuing a career in the Marines. However, after my mother passed away in 1999, my Aunt, who is in the Coast Guard, had a huge influence in my life. She introduced me to the Coast Guard, its mission, and the Academy. The life-saving mission and service above self atmosphere of the Coast Guard are what drew me in. After visiting the Academy several times, I knew it was the perfect fit for me. Now, I'm chasing my dream to serve as an officer in the greatest sea going service in the world, the United States Coast Guard! I can't thank the Coast Guard enough for the opportunities and experiences I have been given so far. I am loving my time at the Academy, and I am pleased to help anyone that has any questions!
If you have any questions, about anything, I will do my best to answer them in a timely fashion. Please feel free to email me at Hunter.D.Stowes@uscga.edu. I look forward to hearing from you!
