Alpha Lambda Delta
Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD)
is a national honor society that recognizes high achievement in scholastics during the freshman (4th Class) year. To be eligible for membership, a cadet must earn a 3.5 term GPA during one of the two semesters their first year. The purpose of this organization is to encourage high academic achievement though ALD also encourages its members to reach out to aid others in their learning. Every year, the Coast Guard Academy inducts about 50 to 60 new members into ALD. In addition, two upperclass members are chosen each year to represent USCGA at the National ALD conference which includes over 400 colleges and universities nationwide.
