Settling In

The year has really started to settle in, in fact it is already coming to an end. I have made a lot of friends and had a lot of good experiences in the four and a half months that I have been here, but that is not to say this year hasn’t had it’s downsides. Academically I haven’t been struggling but it definitely hasn’t been a breeze either. Some of the 4/c rules and regulations have really started to get annoying; nevertheless I realize that all of the upperclassmen went through the exact same thing and you just have to stick it out. If your interested in this school, you can’t come in with the mindset that you’re going to make it through all by yourself or without any struggles. Between the hours put into schoolwork, many military obligations, and at least two hours of sports everyday, you must ask for help from peers and teachers and are prepared to put up with, what seems like pointless, rules all the time. In the end a lot of the things this year have definitely helped develop my discipline level, something that is essential for the rest of my Coast Guard career. As always email me with any questions. Go Bears!
