How Lucky I Am Today

Winter leave came and went. It was a much-needed break and I am recharged and ready for the next semester. The final week prior to winter leave was very hectic. Final exams were tough and required a great deal of preparation. I am happy to say I did prepare well. Over leave, I went to New York City, Boston, and relaxed at home in Newport, Rhode Island. I was able to catch up and spend quality bonding time with the ones I love most.
Because the Academy is very demanding, it is important to have a moment to “stop and smell the roses.” Being home gave me the ability to take a breath and realize how lucky I am today. I firmly believe success at the Academy is derived from personal determination as well as support. As a Patron, I know I will always have my family there to encourage me along the way as I begin the second semester at the USCGA.
