Cost of Attendance
Before an international cadet is enrolled at the Academy, the sponsoring country must agree to reimburse the U.S. Coast Guard for the cost of instruction. The cost of instruction for cadets is approximately $97,000 per year. Countries may request a tuition waiver through the CGA Admissions International Programs Coordinator. Waiver determinations will be made in conjunction with the Coast Guard Office of International Affairs and Foreign Policy and the CGA Comptroller. In addition to the cost of instruction, all incoming international cadets are required to pay an initial deposit of $3,000. This deposit helps offset the cost of a laptop computer, uniforms, and other issued items.

Furthermore, each country must bear all the costs associated with the student’s travel to and from the Coast Guard Academy, including the shipment of any personal items.

Note: Anticipate out-of-pocket expenses.
