Spotlight on Leadership! Please follow along as the LDC puts the spotlight on a different competency each day throughout April.

The U.S. Coast Guard Leadership Development Center (LDC) is located on the U.S. Coast Guard Academy campus. As a small service with many responsibilities, the Coast Guard places great value on effective leadership.

Team Coast Guard. The LDC staff reaches out to all Enlisted, Officer, Cadet, Reserve, Civilian and Auxiliary members of Team Coast Guard through resident and non-resident classroom training, unit level programs and web-based curricula. These delivery strategies combine to improve leadership skills leading to enhanced mission performance and increased retention.

Performance The LDC improves the Coast Guard's performance by training members to demonstrate leadership competencies, providing leadership and quality development efforts and identifying future needs through research and assessment.
