Command and OperationsCommand and Operations School: Pre-Arrival Information
COMMAND and OPERATIONS PRE-ARRIVAL FOR CLASS SCHEDULE
Pre-arrival Preparations:
1. Select the appropriate "Welcome Aboard" package for viewing and printing.
2. TQC Chesapeake will assign individuals to a class considering the competing needs for pipeline training once a member receives orders to CO, XO, OINC, or XPO of a cutter. An electronic "Welcome Aboard" letter will be sent to each student as part of an arrival package to supplement the travel instructions issued by TQC as well as answer other anticipated questions about the program.
3. In nearly all cases, students will be staying in the Munro Hall Guests Quarters (MHGQ) located on Harriet Lane. Reporting instructions and details about the facilities are contained in the Welcome Aboard letter. A significant portion of the learning that occurs at the School comes from the time spent engaged in informal discussions in the MHGQ and at meals. There is much to be said for getting to know our fellow professionals, and the classroom simply does not offer enough of an opportunity. The Coast Guard is a small service and the surface operations community is smaller yet. Chances are the sailors you are attending class with now have been or will be the ones you work with "in the fleet." Make the most of the time available.
For a list of convening dates, go to the Training Quota Management Center (TQC) website.
