Lieutenant Commander Greg Barbiaux
Assistant Professor of Management
LCDR Greg Barbiaux’s research interests include Maritime Economics and Maritime Finance.
LCDR Barbiaux is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Academy. He teaches Macroeconomics to over half of the fourth class cadets each year and is an instructor for Public Management Consulting, the major’s capstone course. LCDR Barbiaux’s assignments in the Coast Guard include the 210’ USCGC Courageous as the Damage Control Assistant/Assistant Engineering Officer; flight school at the Naval Air Station Pensacola where he earned his pilot’s license for single engine airplanes and rotary wing aircraft; CG Air Station San Francisco; and CG Air Station Detroit.
LCDR Greg Barbiaux attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, graduating with High Honors and a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 1998. In 2008, LCDR Barbiaux attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth for his MBA, graduating in June of 2010 with a Master’s in Business Administration.
