Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. George Stetson is a political scientist whose current research examines environmental governance arrangements between private companies, governmental agencies, and indigenous communities in resource frontier regions. More specifically, Dr. Stetson’s work focuses on the role of indigenous communities in natural resource governance and their impact on sustainable development initiatives. While Dr. Stetson’s previous research focused on environmental conflict and governance in the Peruvian Amazon, he is now examining these issues within the context of policy and governance in the Arctic and other environmentally, culturally, and strategically important maritime regions.
