The Center for Maritime Policy & Strategy conducts rigorous and relevant interdisciplinary research that contributes to academic scholarship and informs policy leaders. CMPS's initial research agenda encompasses the Arctic, governance of maritime resource frontiers, coastal management and marine spatial planning, holistic approaches to maritime security and resilience, and maritime policy processes. CMPS's research program is independent. Scholarly research is undertaken by CMPS staff, and under academic research projects sponsored by federal agencies.
